Ima Jonsdottir (violin) has toured the world with pop artist and fellow Icelander Björk; with her she has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the MTV Music Awards and the Montreaux Jazz Festival. She has also toured with bassist/composer Mark Dresser, as well as with the Iceland Symhpony Orchestra which brought her to Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. Although being classically trained, Ms. Jonsdottir ventured into the world of ethnic musics and improvisation as a graduate student at the New England Conservatory of Music, and she now enjoys bringing all those worlds together in her own playing style. Ms. Jonsdottir teaches and performs in the Boston area, with groups such as the Klezmer Conservatory Band, Andromeda4 and The Know Trio.

Andrew Blickenderfer (acoustic bass) has made noise with a

variety of ensembles in clubs, concert halls, recordings, live webcasts,

theatre, radio, and television across North America and Iceland.  Much of his performing explores the musical crossroads of cultures and genres, including classical, jazz, multi-ethnic, and original music settings. Dubbed a "string wizard" (Cleveland Plain Dealer), he can lay down "a bass solo that owes a lot to Jimi Hendrix" (Fanfare Magazine). He plays the nearest available instrument with Fine Foreign Film, Andromeda4, Shirim, HourGlass, and Luna Nova. Andrew also teaches privately as well as in the public schools, everything from violin to Pythagoras.

Andrew Stern (banjo, guitar) keeps busy in a multiplicity of musical styles and settings.  A musical character actor, he often finds himself making his sound contribution to new and adventurous musical situations.  Mr. Stern is a member of Fat Little Bastard, Beat Circus, Andromeda4, Union Suit, the Gill Aharon Trio and also performs regularly with his jazz combo at many fine establishments around Boston and New York.

Andromeda4's members have performed throughout the world and in some of the most prestigious venues and festivals. The various artists and ensembles with whom they have appeared include: the Boston Pops with Amanda Palmer, Björk, Dave Holland, and the

Iceland Symphony Orchestra. These and other groups have taken them to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the MTV Music Awards, the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Place d'Arts in Montreal, and the Sydney Opera House. Andromeda4 themselves have played numerous venues, including world, jazz, folk and rock clubs in New York City and Boston such as the Tribeca Rock Club and Club Passim.


Kelly Demers (voice), a graduate of New England Conservatory, has been bringing her interpretations of classical, folk and Celtic repertoire to audiences in both concert halls and coffeehouses for nearly two decades.With composer Miriam Raiken-Kolb, she performs the role of Emily Dickinson in the play I Dwell in Possibility, exploring her life and relationships in poem and song settings. She is a member of the Luna Nova Trio that specializes in interpretations of 20th Century art songs, Neapolitan melodies, and European folk songs.

Fernando Brandão (flute) is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is also a composer and educator. He has performed extensively as bandleader, sideman, chamber musician, and as a soloist with many prominent orchestras both in Brazil and the US. He leads the Fernando Brandão Septet, the Alma Quintet, and is an active member of Choro Democrático, Sergio Brandão and Manga Rosa, and Bruno Raberg Nonet. He has played or recorded with Luciana Souza , Oscar Castro-Neves, and Rosa Passos. Mr Brandão is an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music.
